It's Super Bowl Sunday in New Zealand, which means it's really Monday here and we had to miss the Super Bowl and work instead. Apparently very few people care about the Super Bowl around here but Chase did see a couple guys with Pittsburgh Steelers towels throwing around a football down the street today. Still, our doctors didn't care so we missed out on the fun. In other exciting developments, I tested negative for MRSA and was able to work today. The first day was about what I expected- slow and not very hands on. It was basically shadowing. I can't complain though because the residents told us not to worry about taking off a Friday here and there to travel. And believe me, I'll take them up on the offer.
Yesterday I promised pictures from our Sunday trip to the aquarium so here they are-----
And then Mary took Cindy for a joyride on the snowmobile. Cindy had no idea that they were moving at an incredible speed.
I couldn't handle Mary driving so I took over. Everyone else felt safer too so they jumped on board
We then hopped in what they described as a snowmobile and headed into a 'recreation of an antarctic expedition' to see penguins. Erin was all excited. Needless to say it was false advertising. The penguins were being penguins. The most excitement came when Ryan saw one of them pooping.
Mary saw a giant squid and it scared her. Kayla was unfazed
This was actually pretty cool. We walked through an aquarium with sharks and it took us through on a moving conveyor belt.
Here are some nice facts about sharks that I didn't know.
Erin didn't like the octopus. And the octopus didn't like Erin.
Love at sea. Watch out Dave, Kayla found a new guy
I know a lot of people have been following this blog. If anyone has any suggestions on what they want to see or what I should add/change please leave a comment to this post below. That's all I know. -- Tommy
